You can get outrage, angry, and frustrated about what’s happening all around us if you keep seeing things with your human eyes and turn your focus away from Jesus. As believers and follower of Jesus, We are called to keep our eyes on Jesus the finisher and perfecter of our faith. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not talking about that we ignore the evil things happening around us and that we don’t stand on the gap or as watchman on the wall. I’m talking about letting things moved you in a way that you response in your humanness rather than through the Spirit.
The Bible tells us in Isaiah 60 verse 2 that “Darkness as black as night covers all the nations of the earth, but the glory of the Lord rises and appears over you.” (NLT).
Our fight is not against people but against power of darkness. Don’t get distracted put on the full armor of God and let’s seek and share the heart of the Father in a world that is full of darkness and lost.
You might think that some of the things are injustices or wrong but are they? Isaiah 5:20 woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who turn darkness to light and light to darkness, who replaces bitter with sweet and sweet with bitter.
The Lord also warns us through Paul in 2 Timmothy chapter 3:
“You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that!” (2 Timothy 3:1-5 NLT).
If you’re reading this, don’t let darkness, the media, or people turn your focus away from Jesus and His calling to share the gospel, make disciples and to live a life full of hope, faith, and love. As the church of Jesus Christ, the living God, we cannot fight a spiritual darkness with human reasoning and tools. Let’s keep our eyes and our focus on Jesus and let’s remain rooted in Him.
